It’s a good day to have a good day!   It's Friday and it’s almost February which are all good things in my book.   I am linking up with Erika and Andrea for:  Just a warning that this might be the Valentine’s Friday Favorites edition! ONE: OH MY!   I picked up this yummy chocolate goodness and now it is my duty to share it with you.  YES!!!!  You can eat it raw! I did try it raw and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I sent a pic to my mom and told her I what I did and she immediately told me I was going to get sick. I sent her this pic giving her all the facts that it was safe. HA! I only baked a few because I have no self-control.  I am happy to report that everyone loved them. They were easy, yummy, and baked to perfection.  TWO: I am   bringing all the FUN into our house with our Valentine decor. I picked up the oh so fancy heart garland from Dollar Tree.  I got about 5 so I could spread them everywhere.   I also love buying holiday plates and a table cover for any occasio

Monthly Musings: January 2021

Image
Hey everyone! This is my first Monthly Musings ever but it won’t be my last.  I am so excited to join Patty and Holly for this link up.  The last Thursday of the month, we get to answer some questions about a topic. I love reading and learning a little more about all those that link up. I hope you’ll enjoy reading my answers too.     This month we are answering these questions:  How do you show love? What is your love language?   I think the best way to show someone love is telling them and showing them with my actions. For the boys, lots of hugs and kisses, telling them I am proud of them, and working really hard to show more patience and less yelling.  For B, telling him I love him, thanking him for helping out (washing dishes, vaccuming, and helping without being asked, etc).  I want him to know he is valued and I see him.   I try to not annoy him and be a better listener.  With my family, I always say "I love you" before ending a phone call or when we leave from a visit.

What’s Up Wednesday: 1/27/21

It’s What’s Up Wednesday!   Each month we share what’s going on in our lives. A little about what we are eating, loving, dreading, watching, listening to, and so much more!   What we’re eating Monday- Hambuger helper, carrots, and Caesar salad  Tuesday- Leftover hamburger helper, corn, and Texas toast And the rest of the week ???  I am not a meal planner as you can tell.   What I’m reminiscing about Our little getaway that we took a few weeks ago to the zoo!   It was so nice to escape the day to day. I am already thinking about a getaway to the beach in the spring. We have realized that having something to look forward to helps A LOT.  What I’m loving I am still thinking about all the goodies I found this weekend at Wal-Mart and Target.  Lots of great sweatshirts! If you missed it, you can read about it HERE .  I’ll be going back to buy the Cool Mom shirt😎 What I’ve been up to Prepping for Valentine’s Day! Gathering all the goodies to give to the boys, friends, neighbors, and loved o

Wal-Mart & Target Finds

Image
Hi Friends, Happy Monday!  Can you believe it’s the last week of January?  I’m not sad about it. Our weekend was uneventful since the weather was a little dreary. This week’s forecast has some sun so hopefully we can get out and enjoy it.  Today, I am joining The Other Side of the Road, My Glittery Heart, and The Sirois Family for: I got a chance to get out of the house yesterday alone. 🙌 WHOOOHOOOO!  I went to Wal-Mart and Target and saw a few things that caught my eye. I didn’t buy anything since I am trying to shop a little smarter. But, I knew I had to share with you. Okay, let’s get started!  The tie-dye trend seems to still be going strong. Are you a fan? I definitely love it. Just take a look at these cuties! And these for $14.98! I also spotted these sweatshirts for $12.88.  These are my style: comfy, loose, and long.  Cool Mom was in my cart but then I decided I really didn't need it.  They had some other options but these 3 spoke to me. Any one of these would make a real

Friday Favorites: 1/22/21

Ahhhhhh, it's my favorite day of the week! Anyone else feel like January is flying by?! Kinda loving it because spring is coming.  I am joining Erika and Andrea for their fabulous link up:  ONE:    We went on a little trip to the Tyler Zoo on Sunday.  It is a smaller zoo than Dallas or Ft. Worth but I tend to enjoy them even more because it is more manageable with the boys. We saw some great animals!  This longhorn was beautiful!  The lion was very active and kept roaring.   He was so loud and could be heard all over the zoo.  These guys scared me because I thought the cage was empty until I spotted them in the corner.   The only downfall for me was that there were way too many people not wearing masks for my comfort level.  We have visited 2 other smaller zoos in the past few months and generally most people will wear a mask even though we are outdoors. We kept our distance from people, avoided the enclosed areas, and avoided the animals that were crowded. It was a fun zoo and t

Tuesday Talk: Mommy + Me clothing

Image
Hey, I am so glad you are here today!  I am linking up with Ashley and Erika for Tuesday Talk. This is always fun because we can talk about anything.  Today I want to discuss mommy + me clothes for BOYS .  I see cute mommy + me for girls but it seems harder to find for boys. I have gotten lucky with a few items from Old Navy.  They seem to have a lot of coordinating items which I’ve been shopping more. I know that now is the time for me to take advantage of their willingness to match with their mama.  Do you know of you any other  stores or boutiques that have great mommy + me for boys?  Please share them with me!  Thanks for your help!  -A-

Honoring Dr. King

Image
Hey there!   I am linking up with a great group of bloggers:  In honor of Dr. King, I wanted to share what I’ll be doing to remember and honor him. What remarkable words!  I thought it would be fun for the boys to color a picture of MLK. There are tons on  Pinterest but I really like this one from Crayola . If you have older kiddos, you can always google “facts about MLK.” It’s  a great way to discuss and learn more about him with your family. Martin Luther King, Jr. is taught in textbooks at school but how amazing would it be to bring the conversation into our homes about MLK and the Civil Rights Movement.  Did you know that MLK basically skipped high school? He attended Morehouse College when has was 15! He skipped 9th - 12th grade.  That is one of the facts I learned while researching about him.  I’ll leave you with a few more nuggets. Let’s DO better and BE better!  Make it a great Monday, friends.  -A-
