Happy Thanksgiving Eve!  Today, I am linking up with Sheaffer and Shay to share a little bit of what's been going on around here. These are always so fun to read!  What we’re eating  Monday - Bertolli Chicken Carbonara, Caesar salad, and French bread  Tuesday-  Jollof rice (made by my sweet neighbor) and ground beef  Wednesday- ? Thursday- Thanksgiving menu (steak, broccoli & cheese, corn, rolls, and pecan pie) The rest of the week ??? What I’m reminiscing about I’m sure we are all thinking of Thanksgiving’s past. Definitely missing family but trying to think of the bigger picture where we need to stay safe and keep the numbers from rising. Our plans changed and each family is staying at their own home.  What I’m loving The Target sweater I shared last week!  It is beautiful and I love it!  I wore it on Monday for D’s check up.  If you are looking for sweaters, Target has some great ones at amazing prices. Buy now!!  What I’ve been up to Purging toys and clothes. We are donatin

Hi, Friends!!  How in the world is Thanksgiving next week?!  It’s unbelievable! I am joining Erika and Andrea for Friday Favorites.  ONE: I sort of departed from Christmas movies this week and started watching The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. Y’all, it’s so GOOD! I don’t know anything about chess but now I want to learn and play just like Beth. And dress like her too! I just realized that there is a book, The Queen's Gambit by Walter Tevis. Now I am going to have to read it.  TWO:  Somehow I completely forgot about these. Pillowfort mug I picked these up for the boys as a stocking stuffer. I am probably more excited than they will be but I can't wait to see them drinking milk and hot cocoa. So cute! I did read some reviews about the letter smudging but for $2, I am not expecting them to last forever.  THREE : Here’s my mini gift guide! These are things that will be in my stocking or under the tree.  Kitsch masks   Necklaces - for layering AND this  Indoorsy tee These Golden

Thankful Thursday: 11/19/2020

It’s time for another Thankful Thursday!   I am a little late posting but I knew who I wanted to highlight this week. I am so thankful for my mom!!  She is “my person” and the heartbeat of our family. When I was younger, I never realized how much she gave up so I could have. She supported my interest in dance, cheerleading, band, and countless other things.  She guided, encouraged, and pushed me to help me be who I am today.  Even now, I call her crying with a newborn and she tells me I can do it. I call her crying with a 3 and 1 year old and she talks me through it.  When we need her, SHE is the only one who drops everything to come and help.  Now the boys are getting to feel that love from Mama R.  We are all so lucky to have her!  Thank you for everything, Mama!  -A-

Tuesday Talk: Easy Turkey Craft

Image
Hey everyone!  I’m joining Ashley and Erika for their link up.  The boys and I made a turkey craft and it was SO easy and SO cute that I wanted to share. The best part is you probably already have everything you need at home.  The original idea came from here .  Materials Needed:  Paper plate Construction paper or card stock paper Glue Black Marker Scissors  Directions: 1. Cut various colored paper into squares.  2. Cut a turkey body using brown paper, cut a red waddle, and orange beak. Save these pieces for later.  3. Put glue on the paper plate and let your little one stick on the “feathers.” 4. Next draw eyes on the brown rectangle.  5. Glue on the waddle and beak. I kept our turkeys simple and did not add legs like the original. Also, I split the craft into 2 days by gluing feathers one day and then adding the body the next. I just love how colorful they turned out. Gobble, gobble!  Hope you have a wonderful day!   -A-

This week seemed to D R A A A A A A A G for me! Anyone else? I would look at the clock and only a few minutes had passed so I am thrilled we finally made it to Friday! I am joining Erika and Andrea for their link up today. Grab your favorite drink and get ready to fall in love with some items from Target.   It’s an add to cart kind of day! ONE:   Last week I mentioned this bin and just wanted to follow up.  Would it be weird to call it "life changing?"  Y'all seriously, I don't know why it took me so long to figure out that THIS is what we needed for all the toys. It was so easy to assemble and I love that we can see where everything goes. I plan to organize C's room this weekend so I may have to find any excuse to buy another. Please notice that little basket we previously used sitting empty.   TWO: More Target goodness!!!  I sort of stumbled upon these next 2 items when I was looking for a shirt to wear for our family pics. They both came in yesterday and I love

Last week was my first post Thankful Thursday and it's time for another. Why did I want to do this? Well, I used to be so busy with work and have never participated in the 30 days of gratitude that most people do on FB.  So, I decided that I needed to  take the time to be grateful for the big and little things this month.  This week I am thankful for the memories I am creating with the boys since I resigned from my job.  It hit me on Monday morning when we went for a walk.  D was in the wagon and C was on his bike  It was just perfect and I was so grateful to be with them.  There are some hard days when I am the meltdown manager, handling all the mom duties, and just trying to survive.  So, to find a little peace and calm this week has been amazing for my mama heart!   Some other special moments this week: more sidewalk chalk, picnic at the park eating homemade cookies, and having lunch outside. We may not be doing a whole lot of pre-academics but we sure are creating lots of fun m

Let's Look: Holiday Menu

Image
Happy Wednesday and Happy Veteran's Day! I hope you are having a great week so far.   Today, I am linking up with Erika and Shay for Let's Look At...our holiday menu!   Since Thanksgiving is around the corner, I will be sharing my Thanksgiving menu. When B and I were engaged and newly married, we would spend Thanksgiving with his family because they would have a larger gathering than mine.  His grandmother and aunt would prepare a traditional Thanksgiving menu. They are excellent cooks and my duty was always washing dishes. 😁 I  would happily do this job because trying to actually help cook something just makes me start sweating and get anxious. I have zero confidence when it comes to cooking.   I do have their recipes for Gran  Gran’s pumpkin and pecan pies and for side dishes like strawberry pretzel salad.  I plan to use them one day but 2020 just doesn’t seem to be the year to experiment, HA! In recent years, B and I started our own little tradition of going out to a Brazil

Friday Favorites: 11/6/2020

It's the most wonderful time of the year! JK, sort of!!! It's time people--- to put up your tree, decorate your house, and listen to Christmas music.  I promise, no judgement here because I am doing it too!  If you are the 1% not celebrating Christmas early, it's okay because it's the most wonderful DAY of the week and I have an assortment of favorites for you.   I am joining Erika and Andrea for Friday Favorites link up.  ONE:   I have been eating this for lunch all week.  I know how crazy we are for Trader Joe's Everything but the Bagel seasoning.  When I saw these crackers at Target I knew I needed to try them. This little combo is so good!  I am sure some of you might find an even better mix and just think you can add them to your charcuterie board. Pick some up the next time you are at Target!   TWO: My hairdresser used this on my  hair when she styled it.   She sprayed, I inhaled, and immediately took a pic so I could buy it.  I bought the smaller size because

It’s my first Thankful Thursday! I am so excited to share and take the time to be grateful for the big and little things this month.  I am going to leave the obvious hubby, kids, family, and health out of the mix until later.  Today, I am grateful for friends! I tend to have a smaller circle of friends as I get older.  I have friends from high school that I may not see everyday but we will text each other and pick up where we left off.  I have old co-workers and a sweet neighbor that are near and dear to me. Then I have a group of Keno girls that we share recipes, laughs, trials of motherhood, and that have been there for me during my pregnancies. They each teach me something and make me strive to be a better person. I am also thankful for the neighbors that made Halloween even better than I could have imagined.  I was a little hesitant to go trick or treating with the boys but B wanted to go.  Our neighborhood really provided LOTS of social distancing opportunities.  We loaded up Robi

October & November Goals

Image
H EY, HEY!!!   It's a new month which means checking in on my October goals and making new ones.  I learned a lot about setting reasonable and achievable goals for myself.  I don’t want to say I failed but I really only accomplished 1 out of 4. I am going to give myself some grace since it was my first time to attempt this.  Let’s review! Recap: #1: My nighttime is very predictable because with little ones a full nights sleep is not promised. C has been waking up EVERY night for several weeks yelling for me. I think he gets a little scared and will settle down once I come in. So, I am tweaking this goal since I am up at random hours most of the time.  #2:  I am drinking 8oz as soon as I get up.  I’ve definitely improved but need to continue for consistency and I want to increase my water intake too. #3: UGH, working out!  What was I thinking? I am tweaking because I pretty much failed on this one.  I am keeping it but changing it so it will be achievable. I realized it doesn’t have
